St Piers School has recently been awarded the School Games Mark at bronze level. This national mark recognises schools for their commitment, engagement and delivery of competitive school sport.
This award was achieved predominately because St Piers School attended and participated in many inclusive Surrey School Games events throughout the year. These included athletics, boccia, badminton, panathlon and dance. Active Surrey, organisers of the Surrey School Games presented St Piers School with the School Games trophy for 2015/16. St Piers School topped the medal table for specialist schools that won the most medals across the year and the most active special school that took part in the programme.
Students who had participated in the school games throughout the year attended the Surrey primary school sports conference at the beginning of November where they were presented with the trophy by former 400m runner and Olympic bronze medalist, Katherine Merry.
