St Piers College has been awarded the Fair Train Work Experience Quality Standard. This national accreditation recognises the value of high quality work experience and employability programmes at St Piers College. The silver standard is awarded to organisations who are looking to take the next step in improving their provision and gain recognition.
The accreditation provides a framework for organisations to work towards, ensuring the placements they offer are high quality. The frameworks were developed with support from the Department for Education, Ofsted, National Apprenticeship Service, National Careers Service, TUC, TSNLA, AELP and AoC, as well as employers and learning providers.
Work experience no longer refers solely to the traditional two-week placement undertaken in years 10-11. It is often a tailored programme, which offers an individual the chance to gain the skills necessary to find full time employment.
