The Duke of Edinburgh Awards began in September 2013, we have enlisted 8 students from across the college to participate this in very exciting award.
The students have chosen activities to complete in the three areas skill, physical and volunteering.
The activities that they have chosen are varied gym, cycling, yoga, horse riding and trampolining for physical, farm, art, ICT and cooking to develop new skills.
Four students are clearing rhododendrons in Ashdown Forest as part of their volunteering and two are cleaning windows across the college site and the remaining two are cleaning at a local church.
The students are working towards their expeditions and four will be going to High Ashurst and will be completing activities that are wheelchair accessible. The other four students will be canoeing and camping out for the night.
All of the students involved will achieve a bronze award certificate and will participate in an awards ceremony at the college, where they will display and show what they have learnt throughout their time completing the DofE.
