On Tuesday 21st January 2014 I put on my smart outfit ready for the special job I had been asked to do. It was a very special occasion. June (Head of School) had asked me to represent St Piers School by presenting a gift to The Duke of Kent!
I was very excited and really looking forward to meeting a cousin of the Queen!
The Duke spoke to us, saying how much he had enjoyed meeting us and learning about epilepsy.
I presented a lovely picture to the Duke which was painted by another student. Arthur, a student from our College, presented it with me. I was very honoured that I was chosen to be there, the Duke shook my hand and said “Thank you”.
Afterwards we all went for lunch in the meeting room. When The Duke left in his black Jaguar we all waved good bye. I really enjoyed meeting him and I thought he was friendly and very polite.
