Day five of the Big Build started with our Chief Executive, Carol Long attending the morning briefing with Santander Consumer Finance and Splash Projects.
It gave Carol the opportunity to thank all of those who have volunteered and carried out the hard work they have all put in and what an impact this will have within the College.
The main tasks of the day were to complete the flooring in the bungalows, painting, completion of the kitchen units, building a fence & a pathway, making ground on a raised platform with a bench for bungalow 10 and a flower bed for bungalow 9. However, this was not without its challenges as the team ran out of wood for the fence and paint, however in true Big Build fashion they pressed on.
Volunteers from SCUK, HCUK, PSA and Santander UK have collaborated on our behalf to build a safe and accessible pathway for students at St Piers. This will give students the pathway to living independent lives.
